About Me
Linda O’Brien-Pallas (Medical Science, University of Toronto) is a Professor in the Faculties of Nursing and Medicine at the University of Toronto; Director and Co-Principal Investigator of the Nursing Health Services Research Unit (University of Toronto site). Recognized as a world authority on nursing human resources, she holds the inaugural CHSRF/CIHR Chair in Nursing/Health Human Resources and is a fellow of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences. Linda has served on many boards/committees including the Canadian Nurses Association, the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario, the Romanow Commission and others. Her research interests include: nursing health, human resources, workload measurement and patient classification systems, and the quality of nursing worklife. Linda has received numerous awards for her research and innovative contribution to nursing. She was recently awarded (2006) the Canadian Nurses Association’s prestigious Jeanne Mance Award.
